  • Why are edding and Elried doing this?

    In the current difficult times, we have heard from our customers that it is increasingly difficult to get service visits from suppliers when having problems with existing coding machines. Some companies want to get additional protection in case of problems. Our edding compact printer is maintenance free and so easy to use that if can be installed and operated without prior training. Therefore, we developed a special rental program to help customers protect against production outages due to coding.

  • How much does it cost to rent an edding compact printer?

    The monthly costs are just 200 EUR plus consumables. There is no minimum consumption.

  • What are the fees?

    Beyond the rental and the consumable, there are no additional fees. Even shipping within the EU is included.

  • How long does it take to get the edding compact printer?

    We will try shipping within one business day via express shipment. Although the printer should arrive after 48 hours within the EU, we can’t give you a guarantee during the current situation.

  • Who is responsible for damages?

    The printer is extremely robust and does not get damaged during regular operation. Normal tear and wear is covered by the rental fee. We would only reserve the right to invoice more severe damages.

  • How long can I keep the rental?

    There is no maximum length on the rental period. Even after we end this service program, you’ll be able to continue the rental you started.

  • Can I keep the printer after the rent if I need it permanently?

    Yes, you can keep the printer and the rent you’ve already paid will count towards the purchase.

  • If I want to return the compact printer early, is there a penalty to do so?

    The minimum duration is one month. The contract can be ended at any time by sending back the printer.

  • Are there minimum requirements to rent an edding compact printer?

    We do not rent to private parties, as edding compact printer is a professional product.

  • What maintenance is my responsibility?

    The big advantage of the edding compact printer is that it does not require any maintenance

  • Does edding Tech lease its compact printers?

  • What is the difference between thermal inkjet printers (TIJ) and continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers?

    TIJ printers are small, versatile, easy to install and operate, maintenance free. Please see our blog post here.

  • How do I know which ink is right for me?

    In general, SP ink is for all open surfaces (paper, cardboard wood), NP for all closed surfaces (plastic, metal, glas etc.). Beyond that we have special inks like UV, pigmented or food-grade. Reach out to us if you have questions and we’d be happy to help you.

  • Who will install the printer?

    The edding compact printer is easy to install within minutes, even without technical knowledge. As on-site visits are no longer possible, we’d be happy to support you by phone, video or web meeting. We also have some clear guiding videos. All free of charge.

  • How do I know if I need accessories (photocell, encoder)? Can I rent them as well?

    You should get the external photocell, if your products have non-rectangular shapes or have opaque/light colour. The external encoder is needed if you want to print on a conveyor with varying speed. Both can also be rented and we are very happy to guide you on this decision.
